Resum

En el marc del neoliberalisme propi del capitalisme avançat, el desenvolupament urbà revela desigualtats socioespacials estructurals. Aquest escenari pressiona les democràcies i posa a prova la funció pública dels estats en la implementació de processos de planificació urbana destinats a aconseguir ciutats més justes (Fainstein, 2010). En aquest context, sorgeix la qüestió de com avançar cap a la justícia urbana en ciutats planificades que, no obstant això, mantenen desigualtats persistents en l’escenari politicoeconòmic actual. L’article proposa un marc analític per examinar la pràctica de la planificació, construït sobre la base de quatre categories d’anàlisi de la desigualtat socioespacial derivades de la teoria: la producció d’espai urbà injust, la posició dels subjectes discriminats per l’espai que habiten, la distribució inequitativa dels béns públics i la representació política excloent. Les conclusions ofereixen directrius per incorporar-les a la formulació d’instruments de planificació territorial, amb l’objectiu de guiar l’acció pública cap a nivells més elevats d’equitat i justícia urbana.
