Feminist Geography: An International Perspective
Abstract
Since the mid 1970s a steadly growing body of scholarship in geography has adopted a feminist perspective and the Regional Conference on Mediterranean Countries of the IGU (Barcelona, September 1986) provided an opportunity for feminist geographers to increase their understanding of women's lives around the world and to share with colleagues different ways of analyzing and interpreting the role of gender in shaping spatial structures, spatial behavior, and human relationships with place. The Round Table session included reports on research by geographers from France, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States and presentations and materials on feminist geographic education in Brazil, the Netherlands, Sweden, and the United States.
