International workshop on urban and Regional aspects of demography

Abstract

The Institute of Demography (CSIC) organized an «International workshop on Urban and Regional aspects of Demography», which was held in Madrid on 17th, 18th and 19th January, 1990. The purpose of this workshop was the analysis of methodological and empirical aspects of population study at local and regional level. The most noteworthy conclusions of the papers presented were: the significant role of migration in population dynamics of such settlements; the need to improve statistical bases; and the relative advantages of certain approaches in the analysis and forecasting of this phenomenon.
