Women's education and the teaching of geography (1839-1914)

Abstract

In this article we are going to analize the role that the teaching of geography played in the education of women in Spain from the last century to the beginning of the present one. In order to do that we are going to considerer primary education system at all levels: the elementary education of young girls, the teacher's training and the preparation of teachers for Training Colleges.
