Abstract

This paper deals with two fundamental aspects of the relationship between man and his environment -the subjective construction of existential space and environmental perception- taking as an example the case of the Catalan High Pyrenees. This research involves the geographical analysis of contemporary Pyrenean literature (fiction) from a humanistic point of view. The author has applied specific humanistic methodology which was developed on the basis of a theoretical framework presented in a former paper. In this article the author describes the structure of the Pyrenean lifeworld as it appears in the before-mentioned literature. From the researcher's point of view the results prove the validity of humanistic methodology in achieving new scientific knowledge of reality.
