Abstract

This article deals with the state of the art in geographical women's studies. In a short overview we try to highlight the different theoretical approaches, concepts and methods. In the growing diversity we can discover some signs of convergence. Common elements can be found in the development of women's studies into gender studies while defining gender as a time and space specific construction. In the continuing process of gender construction women actors and society structures define in mutual influence the direction of change.
