Tradition and Renewal in Environmental Human Geography
Abstract
Partly because of social and academic pressures, environmental issues are gaining strengh again in Human Geography after more than three decades of filling a rather marginal position within our discipline. This article reviews traditional environmental geography as well as some of the recent and more significant contributions to this field of research, with the objective of raising the interest of the community of geographers towards what is likely the most important challenge to be faced by humanity in the next decades.
