XXVIIth International Geographical Congress, Washington D.C., 1992

Abstract

The XXVIIth International Geographical Congress was held in Washington DC, from 9th to 14th August 1992, organized by the US National Committee for Geography in collaboration with the International Geographical Union. Under the heading of aGeography is discovery,, the basic objectives of the Congress were to increase understanding of the processes generated by the reencounter between the Old and New World, and to offer an overall view of the Earth. An extensive programme of social and scientific activities was organized.
