The demographic consequences and perspectives of rural colonisation in Spain
Abstract
Once the process of establishment of population in areas colonized since the mid seventies had been completed, it was necessary to take stock of the demographic dynamism and perspectives of the settlements thus created
Firstly the theorical and conceptual approach implied is outlined, emphasising the characteristics and difficulties of this type of analysis. This is followed by a general analysis of the demographic dynamics in the colonized settlements, with special reference to the districts in which the new residents are concentrated.
Finally, a longitudinal type of analysis of settlements with different demogaphic tendencies is outlined.
