The "First agricultural conference of the Ebro Delta"

Abstract

On the first two weekends of March 1983, the First Agricultural Conference of the Ebro Delta was held in Amposta. It was organized by the Unió de Pagesos of Montsià-Baix Ebre and attended by two geographers from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, who also presented a paper on recent changes in crops in the area.

The aim of the conference was to discuss recent issues related to agriculture in the Ebro Delta, seeking to encourage a certain degree of participation among local farmers. The topics of the presentations were defined with a perspective that, while always addressing the specific problems of the Delta, also aimed to incorporate a more general approach; various specialists on the relevant subjects were invited to take part.
