Conferència de Barcelona sobre grans ciutats

Abstract

A Conference on Major Cities, was held in Barcelona between 28th February and 2nd March, under the auspices of the International Centre for Social Sciences and organized by the Barcelona Metropolitan Corporation. The central theme of the conference was the exposure and study of the «pathologies» of major cities, together with the outlining of measures to counteract them. The cases of 25 different cities were presented, and various experts treated the subject at world regional level. Especially noteworthy is the concluding document, which has been given the name of «The Barcelona Declaration», and in which the present situation is outlined and general recommendations are offered.
