Abstract

This paper seeks to illuminate the geographical and educational foundations on geography teaching by providing a rationale for constructing school geography as a socially critical medium for helping students have happy and fulfilling experiences in their daily lives. This involves finding answers to a number of geographical questions and problems as we porsue our various life roles as learners, social beings, recreators, producers, consumers and citizens.
