Geography and the Environment: La Géographie Phyisique en question
Abstract
This note reports on the meeting on Geography and the environment held at Tolouse to celebrate the award of an honorary medal to Prof. Georges Bertrand by the CNRS for services to research. The most important topics of discussion at the meeting are outlined.
The debates were estremely enriching as a result of the heterogenous nature of the contributors. Nevertheless, one central theme predominated, namely, the challenge of adapting geographical teaching and research in the face of environmental issues, particulary in the field of Phisical Geography.
