Engendering Geography: peoples, places and ideas
Abstract
This paper deals with the risks posed by the hegemony of Angloamerican Geography and its capacity to silence other forms of knowledge. Different linguistical, political, cultural and economic contexts do matter and therefore it is important to assess the richness of thought associated with them. The paper begins with some references to my personal history because I believe that personal histories and individual values play a role as important as that of contexts in the definition of change.
