Notes on the organization of local gGovernment in the United States of America
Abstract
These comments, based on a more extensive study undertaken recently by the author, aim to outline the organization of local public administration in the U. S. A.
The comments are divided in three parts: in the first, a classification of the different existing types of local government is made. Mention is made of the functions and roles exercised as a rule, of the population settlements which they usually serve, and of the election systems generally applied. The second part deals with the means of financing local administration. And the final section offers information on the implementing of this system in the nation's metropolitan areas.
