La seguridad hídrica y el ciclo hidrosocial en Cataluña: diagnosis y retos para un país bajo presión

Resumen

La seguridad de poder disponer de agua es uno de los retos más urgentes ante los crecientes impactos del cambio climático, especialmente en Cataluña, un territorio sometido a una elevada presión sobre los recursos hídricos. Este artículo analiza la seguridad del agua a través del marco del ciclo hidrosocial, integrando dimensiones físicas, económicas, sociales y ambientales. En él se examinan los principales desafíos, como las sequías recurrentes, las desigualdades en el acceso y la asequibilidad del agua, la gobernanza hídrica y el impacto sobre los ecosistemas, y también se destaca la importancia de abordar estas problemáticas de manera interdisciplinaria, integrando perspectivas tecnológicas, políticas y sociales para garantizar una gestión sostenible y equitativa de los recursos hídricos. Mediante un análisis del caso catalán, este estudio identifica los principales riesgos y desafíos en un contexto de cambio climático y desigualdades sociales crecientes, subrayando la necesidad de realizar un enfoque más inclusivo y resiliente en la planificación del agua.
